AJ’s Safe Place is dedicated to providing high-quality, person-centered care for individuals with developmental disabilities. Since our establishment in 2016, we have been committed to creating a safe, supportive, and enriching environment where individuals can thrive.

Aimienofona Ayiyi – Chief Executive Officer

Aimienofona Ayiyi brings over 20 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. She has been a nurse since 2014 and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science of Nursing. Currently pursuing her Family Nurse Practitioner degree, she anticipates completing it by the end of 2025. With over a decade of nursing expertise, Aimienofona leads AJ’s Safe Place with a vision to empower individuals and elevate care standards.

Achievements:

  • 20+ years of experience in developmental disabilities.

  • Over 10 years of nursing expertise.

  • Advocates for professional development and quality care for all members.

James Owens – Chief Executive Officer

James Owens has dedicated over 10 years to working with individuals with developmental disabilities, combining hands-on care with technical expertise. He served as a nursing aide for five years, providing compassionate support, and also worked as a contracted truck driver. In addition, James holds an HVAC certification, demonstrating his diverse professional skill set. His leadership ensures a practical, well-rounded approach to the services provided at AJ’s Safe Place.

Achievements:

  • 10+ years of experience in developmental disabilities.

  • Certified HVAC technician.

  • Former nursing aide with five years of healthcare experience.

Melanie Wimbley – Human Resource Manager

Melanie Wimbley leads AJ’s Safe Place’s recruitment, placement, certification, and training efforts, ensuring our team is well-equipped to deliver exceptional care. Her expertise in matching the right talent with the right roles has been instrumental in maintaining a highly skilled and motivated workforce. Melanie’s focus on compliance and professional development supports the continued growth and excellence of our organization.
