Comprehensive Training for Care Professionals
Welcome to AJ’s Safe Place! We are proud to provide qualified trainers with hands-on experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Our trainers are certified through the State of Arizona, meet all state prerequisites, and are dedicated to ensuring your training experience is both effective and impactful.
We offer introductory, recertification, and continuing education training that exceeds State of Arizona and Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) requirements. These classes prepare direct care workers with the knowledge and skills to improve the lives of those they serve.
Training Information:

Cost for AJ’s Safe Place Employees:

Training is provided at no cost to employees, except for a $20 fee for CPR and First Aid certification.

Class Schedule:
-
Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week.
Additional Services During Orientation:
-
Notary services.
-
Assistance with fingerprint clearance applications.
-
Support with central registry background checks and applications.

Class Fees:

Training for New Hires and Staff Renewals:
-
Training is free for new hires and staff completing renewals.

CPR and First Aid Fee for Employees: $20.

Certification/Training Copy Requests:
-
If you request copies of certifications, training records, or other documents within the first 90 days of hire, you will need to pay the class fee for each requested document.
Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations submitted at least 24 hours prior to class start time will receive a full refund.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the class can have fees transferred to another session, but refunds will not be issued.

What to Expect During Training

Dress Code:

Wear closed-toe shoes to ensure safety during physical training activities that may require a firm grip.

Office casual attire is required.

Identification:

Non-AJ’s Safe Place participants must present a valid photo ID upon arrival.

Punctuality:
-
Participants arriving more than 15 minutes late will need to reschedule and will not be admitted to the class.

Child/Member Care:
-
Child/member care is not provided at training sites. Participants must arrange care in advance. For Zoom classes, care must also be provided by someone other than the participant.
